Ten years ago, a small team set out to photograph and film 200 women from around the world — Nobel laureates and refugees, heads of state and teenagers — each invited to answer the same five questions about what matters most in her life. The result, 200 Women: Who Will Change the Way You See the World, became a book from Chronicle Books and a touring exhibition that continues to inspire reflection, connection, and conversation around the world.
200 Women was created by Geoff Blackwell and Ruth Hobday, whose intention was to move beyond stories of success and power alone and capture the diversity and authenticity of real women's lives. Each participant was photographed by Kieran E. Scott in front of a plain sheet of fabric and filmed answering the same five questions, resulting in 200 original portraits and interviews and the book that shares their name.
